It wasn't just a pain, but a deep, deep emotional scar -- one that he had expected to carry forever. And now it was gone. Gone! He couldn't understand it. He looked at the Kahuna, "Mahalo," he said with gratitude.

The Kahuna nodded, "Now, you must learn so you can help pass the teaching on to others. Will you do that?" The Haumana nodded, "Yes."
